The site for my small business tutoring academy had only been created about two years ago, but as most entrepreneurs can attest, I needed to be able to edit content, add promotions, and upload new tutors’ bios and class schedules every semester to even think about competing with all the other academies in my area. And in the San Francisco Bay Area, there’s a lot of competition and even more web designers. I’m so grateful to have commissioned the creative team at avenue labs. Not only did the team leader sit down to meet with me both in person and over the phone numerous times to listen to my every website design desire, but he also asked how I envisioned my company as a whole in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, etc. He patiently brainstormed with me as to how to execute all of my future plans and gracefully maneuvered it all back to the website. He set up a platform that is extremely easy for a Luddite like me to make instant edits and would be able to support any of my long-term objectives when I am ready to implement them. The site itself is phenomenal and everything I wanted. I kept repeating that I needed the site to be fun and funky for my students, sincere enough to reflect my passion for my company, and professional enough for my clients (the parents). The team achieved all that and more; I could not be more pleased with and proud of my new site. The team enhanced my logo, helped me rewrite a catch phrase, and even incorporated a detail from my classroom into the design. Furthermore, they also made themselves available to redesign my marketing brochures and business cards to reflect our new image. Out of all of that, I’m most impressed with the creative team’s communication, which is absolutely its strength. The team leader and a few project managers are based in San Francisco, but the creative team itself works out of Russia! No wonder the work was always done by early the next morning when I sent design feedback at 7 in the evening! Though the team is separated by continents, they communicate extremely well several times a day and have a very organic work relationship. It’s obvious that these guys know each others’ work, design, and communication styles. Not one thing fell through the cracks, not one of my ideas wasn’t heard and incorporated in some way or another. I felt instantly that my site and even the future of my company was in good hands, which allowed me to focus on running my small business. And that is invaluable.
